Neopets has a lot of items, and finding just the ones you care about can be quite time consuming. Our search is built with options to help you sort through everything and narrow the results down to something manageable. You can put as many words as you want in the search box at the top of the page, or the search box on the home page. The items returned will have all of the words from the search in their name. The order does not matter--"shiny shield" and "shield shiny" will get you exactly the same thing.
You can use several keywords (special search terms) to narrow your search:
-nc - Exclude items that come from the NC Mall.
-pb - Exclude items that are from paint brushes.
+pb - Return only items that are from paint brushes.
-np - Exclude items that can be purchased with Neopoints.
You can use several prefixes (things that come before a search term) to narrow your search:
-X - Return only items that do not contain X in their name. For example, items with "Altador" in the name but not "Cup" in the name.
pet:X - Return only items that can be worn by species X. For example, items that have "hat" in the name, that Ixi can wear.
only:X - Return only items that can be worn exclusively by species X. For example, items with "dress" in the name that only Kyrii can wear.
inzone:X - Return only items that are in zone X. For a list of zones, keep reading. For example, items in the Markings/Tattoo zone that come from paintbrushes.
exzone:X - Return only items that are not in zone X. For a list of zones, keep reading. For example, items that have "suit" in the name, can be bought with NP, and do not use the Trousers zone.
specialcolour:X - Return only items that can be worn by special colour X. For a list of special colours, keep reading. For example, items with "dress" in the name that only Maraquan pets can wear.
Special colour searches use the specialcolour: search prefix. You can use any one of the following in a search: baby, maraquan, mutant, 8-bit, apple, asparagus, aubergine, avocado, blueberry, carrot, chokato, durian, gooseberry, grape, lemon, lime, onion, orange, pea, peach, pear, pepper, pineapple, plum, thornberry, tomato, all.
Zone searches use shortened names for some zones to make understanding your search easier. Below is a list of the actual zone names and the zone names to use with inzone: or exzone:
|Full Name||inzone:/exzone: Name|
|Lower Foreground Item||lowerfg|
|Higher Foreground Item||higherfg|
